Its story
In the discreet Hunting Dogs, a modern constellation peering into the northern sky, burns this orange K-type giant at 291 light-years. Its coppery light left its surface around 1734, as Bach was finishing the «St Matthew Passion» and the Enlightenment was gathering breath. It is cooler than the Sun yet noticeably larger, as stars tend to be once they have passed their noon.
