In Berenice's Hair, Coma Berenices, glows an orange K-type giant 161 light-years away. Its golden light departed during the American Civil War, around the time of the Battle of Gettysburg. Cooler than the Sun yet more voluminous, it pulses among the strands of light that the Egyptian queen, in legend, offered to the gods to bring her husband home.
