Its story
54 Leonis burns white at nearly 287 light-years, an A-type flame among the hind paws of the Lion. Its cold, clean light crossed almost three centuries before brushing the early telescopes that catalogued it. On moonless nights the trained eye finds it as a quiet pearl near the curve John Flamsteed once mapped in the eighteenth century.
