Its story
Within the modest cup of the constellation Crater shines an orange type-K star, slightly cooler than the Sun and of a golden-coppery hue. Its light set out nearly 500 years ago, when Magellan and Elcano were completing the first circumnavigation of the planet and the world was discovering itself round in a single sweep. Today, that same light settles upon our retina, intact, after half a millennium in transit.
