Highly luminous starIts story
In Monoceros, the discreet unicorn of the winter sky, shines an orange K-type star, far more luminous than the Sun despite its lower temperature. Its light took roughly 1,875 years to reach us: it set out in the 2nd century, when the Roman Empire was living under Marcus Aurelius and the Stoic thinkers were writing their meditations. That amber glow crosses the centuries to outline the unicorn.
