Its story
In Canis Major, the constellation of the great celestial dog, it shines with a yellowish-white tone typical of class F stars, slightly hotter than the Sun. Its light took only 123 years to reach us: when it set out, Edison's first electric bulbs were beginning to light the streets of the world and the Lumière brothers were taking their first steps towards cinema. It is a discreet, stable star, with no companion or pulsations, one of those steady presences in the firmament.
