Hot blue starIts story
22 Orionis is a B-type blue star 929 light-years away, set in the shield of Orion within that band of hot suns belonging to the immense Orion OB1 association. It shares its lineage with Rigel and the Belt stars —young molecular clouds that have been igniting massive suns for only a few million years. Its light took nearly a millennium to cross the void to the eyes that meet it tonight.
