Zeta Doradus lies 38 light-years away, in the southern constellation of the Golden Dolphin, and shares many traits with a younger Sun: F7-type, barely six hundred million years old, with a habitable zone stretching from 0.89 to 2.07 astronomical units. A disk of cometary dust surrounds the primary, and in 2025 astrometric measurements revealed hints of a giant planet still awaiting confirmation.
