Its story
Caelum —the Engraver's Chisel, another of Lacaille's inventions— is one of the smallest and most forgotten constellations. There shines a white star 268 light-years away. Its light departed around 1758, when Halley's comet returned on schedule, validating Newton's celestial mechanics for the first time. A cool, young, A-type light travelling from that century of reason.
