Secunda Hyadum
Del-1
Its story
Secunda Hyadum is part of the Hyades, the open cluster that traces Taurus's bull-head around Aldebaran. It is a yellow giant similar to the Sun but well past its prime, lying some 156 light-years away within the nearest stellar swarm to us. Its Latin name, «the second of the Hyades», recalls that according to Greek myth these stars were the sisters who wept for Hyas until they were turned into rain.
