Its story
In Perseus, the hero armed with Medusa's head, shines this orange K-type star, cooler than the Sun and amber in hue. Its light set out 394 years ago, around 1630, when Johannes Kepler was publishing his last astronomical tables and dying in Regensburg. Its warm glow blends into the region's rich stellar tapestry, crossed by the Milky Way: a serene flame in one of the densest passages of the northern winter sky.
