Its story
Unnamed in Andromeda, beside the most famous spiral galaxy visible from Earth, this white star has been sending its light for 544 years. It set off in 1482, as Da Vinci was moving to Milan in the service of Ludovico Sforza. Hotter and brighter than the Sun, it is an A-type that lends its silver accent to the field where our telescopes seek distant M31, our galactic neighbour 2.5 million light-years away.
