Its story
Within the old shield of Perseus glows an orange giant some 211 light-years away. Its light set out around 1815, when skies were still veiled by ash from the Tambora eruption and Europe endured the so-called «year without a summer». Cooler yet far more extended than the Sun, it is a calm amber flame in a northern corner of the firmament.
