Its story
In Cetus, the maritime constellation of the autumn sky, shines this yellow-white F-type star, slightly hotter than the Sun. Its light set out 140 years ago, around 1884, when the Berlin Conference was partitioning Africa among the European colonial powers. Its lemony hue and modest luminosity make it one of those stars the trained eye picks out as a small pale pearl floating against the darker background of the constellation.
