Its story
12 Andromedae is a yellow-white F-type star in the body of the Princess, that long chain of stars stretching toward the great square of Pegasus. At 137 light-years its surface is somewhat hotter than the Sun's, and its magnitude 5.77 makes it a subtle but achievable spark under clean skies. The light arriving tonight set out in the late 19th century, when great refractors were beginning to photograph the sky on dry plates.
