Its story
Within the southern Crane, Grus —that elegant elongated bird of the southern sky— shines a yellow-white type F star, slightly hotter and more luminous than the Sun. Its light took only 109 years to cross the void: it set out when Einstein published general relativity and all Europe sank into the First World War. It still arrives young, a clear flame suspended between the neck and the wings of the celestial bird.
