Its story
11 Lacertae is a quiet K-type orange star tucked into the small constellation of the Lizard, threaded between Cygnus and Andromeda. From around 333 light-years away, its light has been crossing the void since the years when Newton was still publishing. Lacerta was drawn into the sky in the late seventeenth century by Hevelius to fill a gap among larger figures, and 11 Lacertae belongs to that late stitching that finally closed the northern map.
