Variable star

Its story

Epsilon Cephei is a yellow-white F-type star lying some 86 light-years away, a member of the restless family of Delta Scuti variables: it pulsates several times a day with brightness changes that are nearly imperceptible. It belongs to the quadrilateral of Cepheus, that pointed-house outline which seems to hang from the northern circumpolar sky near the celestial pole.
