Hot blue starIts story
Within the great wings of the swan, 545 light-years away, throbs a young blue B-type star with the metallic gleam of hot suns. Its light set out toward us when Cervantes was writing the second part of «Don Quixote» in Habsburg Madrid. Hotter and more massive than the Sun, it spends its life at the rapid pace typical of blue stars, condemned to shine very brightly for a very short time.
