What is Mu 1 Octans
μ¹ Octantis is a yellow-white star in Octans, the dark constellation that contains the southern celestial pole. When a southern observer frames it, they look almost exactly toward Earth's axis of rotation. Its F type places it between hot white and solar gold, a discreet flame in one of the least illuminated regions of the sky.
Where it is and when to see it
Mu 1 Octans lies in the southern celestial hemisphere. It is visible to the naked eye under a dark sky. Its best month of the year is July, when it culminates around midnight.

It can be seen from anywhere south of 14° N.
