Variable starIts story
Red and trembling in the long body of the Dragon, 669 light years away. The light now entering the northern window set off when Brunelleschi was finishing the dome of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, around 1436. Its variable M class sketches a cool giant pulsing slowly, shedding matter in each cycle, already near the end of its life.
